Dumpster Rental in San Leandro: What the Work Looks Like
San Leandro is an older city than it looks from I-880. Roughly 40% of its homes went up in the post-war boom between 1945 and 1960, and the early neighborhoods (Broadmoor's bungalows and Craftsman houses, Estudillo Estates, Peralta, Best Manor) are older still. That makes the residential work here mostly remodels of pre-1960 houses: kitchens, baths, flooring, re-roofs, garage conversions and the clean-outs that come before a sale.
The other half of the city is industrial (more than 20% of San Leandro's land is zoned for it, along Davis and Doolittle, the Marina Blvd corridor and west of I-880), and much of the building there now is old warehouses coming down for modern logistics and R&D space: Prologis's 244,000-square-foot project at Doolittle Drive was approved in May 2025, and the former Bayfair Mall is being converted to R&D suites as Speedway at Bayfair. Monarch Bay Shoreline, about 500 homes and a hotel, is approved on the waterfront. San Leandro is about ten minutes from our Hayward yard, the shortest run we make.
